I recommend buying a waterproof wallet (online, at the park it's too expensive!) so you don't have to run back to your locker if you crave a churro (I speak from experience) or want to take your picture with the parrot! :D Putting your money in a plastic baggie doesn't work-it still gets wet (still speaking from experience). while waiting I also liked the waterproof watch and timer they give you with the premium pass), went on a weekday, and arrived early! I used the LIRR package, as I don't have a car yet, which was nice with the discounts. I did a lot of review reading before going to Splish Splash and it was worth it! I purchased the H2Go premium pass (if it won't hurt your budget, go for it, and don't forget to bring your ID! you reserve one ride at a time, it cuts your wait time, and you don't have to stand in line-we ate lunch, watched the bird show, rode other rides, etc. If you are worried about expense plan out what you want before hand, pack a lunch and enjoy the day. The crowds on those days were non-existent. My wife and duaghter did this and actually made several afternoon trips on days that started out overcast, but turned out nice.

Great money saving tip is if you plan on visiting more than once in a season go for the Season Pass, you will cover your cost by the second visit and it gives you the option to run over for a partial day without having to pay for a full day. Lockers are convenient but add to the overall cost. Three times during a recent visit I stopped line cutters, twice in the presence of staff who didnt stop it in the first place and did nothing when they witnessed me and fellow line waiters call out the line cutters. Line cutting seems to be a serious problem with the staff doing nothing to stop it. Park does get crowded and I havent been able to figure out the rhyme or reason behind it.
The park has a lot rides for all ages, heights, wieghts and adventure levels. Look for ways to minimize cost, coupons, bring your own food and you can keep the cost down. Overall cost is not too bad, but add in the parking fee, cost of food, water, H2GO, lockers, etc it can get pricey.
